STRUCTURAL ALUMINUM EXTRUSIONS

TSLOTS come in both fractional and metric sizes. However, the majority of the supporting components are fractional and are designed to retrofit other types of t-slotted products. If you want further details regarding how TSLOTS can be used to replace other t-slotted products, please give us a call.

Aesthetically TSLOTS may be the best t-slotted product offered in the market because of its smooth surface finish and all of the profiles are extruded on Futura's extrusion presses. This allows us to quality check every batch of extrusions.

Below is technical information relating to the TSLOTS product offering.

TSLOTS allow manufacturers to quickly build and rebuild structures in a cost effective way. There is no need to weld anything. Simply loosen the connectors and move them where you want.

TSLOTS EXTRUSION ADVANTAGES

  • Linear adjustment in X, Y, and Z axis
  • All TSLOTS are on 1/2", 3/4", 1", or 1 1/2" centerlines
  • Use standard fractional or metric sized centerlines
  • Lightweight and easy to use
  • Stocked in 240" lengths
  • Add to your design or change it at any time - flexibility is the key

EXTRUSION SPECIFICATIONS

  • Alloy - 6063*, T6 Temper
  • As an extruder, there are many other alloys that we can extrude. If your application calls for a different alloy, let us know and we can extrude it for you.
  • Yield Strength (0.2% proof test) - Mpa = 200 Ksi = 29
  • Tensile Strength - Mpa = 230 Ksi = 33
  • Elongation A5 minimum 10%
  • Elongation A10 minimum 8%
  • Elasticity E approximately 10x10^6 psi or 10,000,000 psi (or lbs/sq. in)
  • Hardness - Webster Model "B" 11-12
  • Flatness - .004" per inch of width
  • Straightness - .0125" per foot of length, not to exceed .120 over 20 feet of length
  • Twist - Twist per foot of length does not exceed .25 degrees and total twist over 20 feet of length does not exceed 1.5 degrees

SPRING LOCK FEATURE

All TSLOTS structural extrusions have a 2° taper that spring locks fasteners as they are tightened. Fasteners will not loosen, even under heavy vibration.

FASTENER TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

The table indicates the amount of torque needed in foot lbs. to activate the 2° drop lock feature of the extrusion. The nut and bolt combination is pre-loaded when tightened to the minimum torque rating. The pre-loaded state makes a vibration proof connection.

FASENTER DESCRIPTION TESTED EXTRUSION LBS. TORQUE MIN. FT LBS. TORQUE MAX. FT

ALUMINUM ALLOY

An aluminum extrusion alloy is a predetermined mixture of one or more elements together iwth aluminum to be heated and hydraulically pressed through an extrusion die. Some common elements alloyed with aluminum include Copper, Magnesium, Manganese, Chromium, Silicon, Iron, Nickel, and Zinc. TSLOTS are extruded using a 6063 alloy. The major alloying elements for this alloy include Mg .45% - 9% and Si .20% - 6%

ANODIZING

Anodizing is an electrochemical process that thickens and toughens the naturally occurring protective oxide. The resulting finish makes a corrosion resistant extrusion. TSLOTS extrusions have an etched anodized finish that is .15 - .25 mil.
